Meet Caitlin
08.05.2025

At IMPACT, we’re proud to support the next generation of communications professionals through our Emerging Talent Program. These internships are designed to develop work-ready graduates, while providing students with a practical understanding of agency life.

Over the course of May and June, we will be joined by Caitlin Hartigan. Born and raised in Sydney’s inner west, Caitlin is currently in her first year at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) where she is studying a Bachelor of Communications, majoring in Media Business and Journalism.

“By studying communications I get to learn about people and society as a whole, which is incredibly interesting to me. It also allows me to use my creative side, whether it’s writing or content creation,” Caitlin said.

We sat down with Caitlin for a quick Q&A to learn about her time with us so far.

Interning at IMPACT

Q. Why did you choose IMPACT for your internship?

A. I was inspired by my mother’s career in communications and wanted to follow in her footsteps. IMPACT has an incredible range of clientele, which drew me to the company.

Q. What experience are you most looking forward to with this internship?

A. I am most excited about the work experience I will gain from working with industry professionals. I hope that my time at IMPACT will help me develop my work ethic and foster my creative side.

Q.  What work have you been involved in at IMPACT?

A. So far in my internship I have been supporting the team on the Rheem Apprentice Plumber Grants. It’s been great to see how my studies apply to real-world experience.

Q. What do you like most about working at IMPACT?

A. What I like most about IMPACT is the environment inside the office. The staff are inviting, and the office space is intimate and warm.

Q. What are your interests outside of work/study?

A. I enjoy creating things! I love to draw and will often do so to create gifts for my loved ones. I also enjoy photography and videography. I have recently created a professional photography account on Instagram, in which I post my favourite images.

Q. What advice would you give to anyone seeking to undertake an internship but are unsure of where to start?

A. I would advise searching for companies that align with your interests and, most importantly, your morals. IMPACT ended up being that company for me. My hope is that other young women in the communications field don’t settle for anything less than a company that supports you.
