We love a podcast at IMPACT, whether it’s something we enjoy in our downtime, arranging them for our clients, or developing our own.

Our fearless leader, Nicole Webb, recently sat down with Triple M Southwest presenter and broadcast journalist, Leah Tindale on her podcast, Note To Self to share pearls of wisdom, heartfelt lessons and life hacks.

Nicole talks about her journey to leadership, the highs and lows of being a female CEO, and why mentorship, flexibility, and generosity are crucial in today’s workplace.

She dives into the evolving world of PR, balancing work and life, and how values and resilience shape truly impactful leadership.

After almost 26 years in business, Nicole attributes her success to her support network: “I’m a huge believer of making sure you ask for help when you need it.”

When speaking on the subject of female leaders and CEOs, Nicole reflects on the introduction of IMPACT’s onsite crèche to support staff returning to work at a time when it was unusual, particularly for the PR industry.

As a female CEO in the media and communications, Nicole discusses the unexpected hurdle of gender bias and equal pay. While she believes the industry is heading in right direction, there is more work to be done.

For those aspiring to becoming a CEO, Nicole offers this advice:

“Have a chat with those in those business and in those situations…it’s really important to have those conversations, and then when you do decide to do it, get yourself a good mentor to help you.

“Financial literacy is really important. I cannot state how important It is when setting up your business…and the other thing that’s been really beneficial is think about your values and what the values you want to have within your business. They’re the guiding light, your North Star on how you’re going to hire people, how you’re going to work with people, and the services you offer.”
